Read MoreI had no idea how little hummingbirds were until I saw a few at Fairchild Tropic Botanic Garden last week. These little guys are absolutely beautiful; this painting is based on an original photo. These birds are so fast that is almost impossible to get a photo of them. The painting was done on 12″ by 9″ cold pressed paper entirely in watercolor.

This is the respendent quetzal, a beautiful bird that comes from Mexico and can be found in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica. This guy was also adopted by Guatemala as their national bird and is the inspiration of their currency.
