To escape from the news of Hurricane Dorian, I did a painting of a puffling and a few tie dye tee shirts. Thank you Joyce (my wonderful teacher!)
Yoga Class; Dancing Puffin
“Joycita”, the 3D Puffin (Papier Mache) over 9″ by 12″ Rough Paper (Gouache and Watercolor)
This project took 2 art classes to complete. The little puffin is made out of papier mache with a technique introduced to me by Joyce, my art teacher. So I named this puffin “Joycita” (with her permission!). She was then pasted onto a background made with gouache and watercolor paints.
A Puffin (Done in Watercolor over Background Wash)
I did a background wash on this paper for practice at the workshop last week. Then today, I opted to paint a puffin over that background. The result is the guy that you see–looking out over the horizon.
