Opah Fish, Inspired by Photo by Ralph Pace

This week, a photo taken by Ralph Pace, appeared in a Yahoo article. An Opah fish (very rare) was found off of San Diego. This fish is heavier than 100 pounds and is a warm blooded fish. But what struck me was how colorful it was and I just had to paint this guy. This was done with iridescent watercolor and gouache colors. Of course, I added a little smile to this fish.
